However, due to her busy schedules, the Liberian leader will not attend the ceremony. She has designated Edith Gongloe-Weh, former head of the President's US-based support group, the disbanded Liberians For Ellen (LIFE), to accept the Award in her behalf.
Other honorees include Katie Couric, Anchor and Managing Editor CBS Evening News, Sara Miller-McCune, Philanthropist and Founder of SAGE Publications, Honorable Callista Chimombo, Minister of Tourism, Wildlife, and Culture, Republic of Malawi, Fran Weissler, Broadway Producer, Helen Thomas, Journalist and first woman officer of the White House Press Corps, US Senator Olympia Snowe, Muriel Siebert, First Woman Member of the New York Stock Exchange and Honorable Marjorie Nguanje, Member of Parliament and Former Minister of Health, Republic of Malawi and Former Democratic vice Presidential Candidate, Geraldine Ferraro.
